Service Technician 1 (Entry Level) - Scales & BioMed Equipment - Central Florida

 We are recruiting for an Entry-level service technician 1. This position is based in Central Florida, with the service vehicles based just south of downtown Orlando. 

This is an entry-level position, so prior experience in scale, BioMed, or technician roles is not required. However, a general mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn are necessary.

The primary responsibility will be to travel to our customers' various locations within a 100-mile radius of Orlando to calibrate and repair their weighing and physical therapy equipment. You’ll also be able to perform equipment installations, electrical configuration through software menus, and various forms of maintenance on weighing and physical therapy devices.

You will also gain experience acting as a sales representative, documenting customer needs, and working closely with our office staff to generate quotations for additional services and new equipment sales.

Regular work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but they vary depending on the customer’s requirements (we are a 24-7 service provider). Flexible scheduling is available, such as working four days at 10 hours a day if that is preferable.

The career trajectory for this role would be to transition into a fully trained service technician position, assuming additional diagnostic or programming tasks as industry knowledge is acquired over a 3-5 year period. 

We will provide all of the tools for the job.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL GETTING STARTED

  • A clean driving record (you will be required to consent to an MVD check).
  • The ability to travel freely between Monday and Friday
  • A willingness to work on weekends for emergency requests, using a rotating schedule with the rest of the team (Not very often as most of our customers are Monday-Friday)
  • Endurance to work earlier or later than regular work hours, with the occasional possibility of 10+ hours of overtime per week, but not typical
  • Great communication skills, both for written work documentation, emails, and verbal customer interactions

The rest we will expect to teach you as you grow into the role, but know that these are the skills that will be needed

  • A thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to service work
  • Mechanically inclined and with an intuition on how things are assembled
  • The ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot logical diagnostics procedures
  • Ability to use an electrical multimeter and hand tools
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the day and sometimes up to 70 pounds as needed
